Peace made him bold; his life was in God's hands, and there it would always stay. 'The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

About This Quote

The quote above is a prayer that Queen Victoria recited to herself every morning before she went to bed.  The words were the same when he was in prison and when he was king. The words were the same when they came aboard ship and when they landed in England. They never changed.

They were, in fact, her last words spoken before she went to sleep. She hoped that God would help her make the right choice for England and for herself.  She also hoped that God would keep her safe from harm and keep her in His care.

Finally, she hoped that God would protect and guide the family she had built and loved so well during her reign.
